Pitter Patter Pantry of Carroll County WHAT IS THE PITTER PATTER PANTRY? It is a pantry used for families enrolled in the Carroll County WIC program {Women, Infants & Children} WHY DO WE NEED IT? Currently there are over 400 individuals in Carroll County utilizing the WIC program. In 2008, 11.4% of Carroll County residents were below poverty level, with 18.4% of residents under the age of 18 below poverty level. WHERE IS IT LOCATED? At the Land of Oz - 855 South Mill Street in Mount Carroll IL. We are set up at the north end of the building. {Look for us just to the right off HWY 64 as you go west out of Mount Carroll} CHILDREN + POVERTY = Low Birth Weight Poor Motor Skills Lower Cognitive Scores Substandard Nutritional Status Lower Cognitive School Achievement Chronic Health Problems {Asthma & Anemia} HOW WILL PEOPLE AFFORD THE PITTER PATTER PANTRY? Through the use of “Baby Bucks”. They will be able to earn these by: ‘Well-Baby’ check up Attending a parenting class Going to School Attending their WIC appointments HOW CAN YOU HELP? By Volunteering and Donation BY HELPING THE CHILDREN OF CARROLL COUNTY HAVE A WARM, SECURE, AND HEALTHY START, WE CAN FIGHT THE DEVASTING EFFECTS OF CHILDHOOD POVERTY…..
